Where do I begin? Well, let me start by saying I have been avoiding this post for a really long time. Blog? Me? I just don’t believe anyone wants to hear what I have to say. However, I do like to talk…alot. So, after much deliberation, I’ve decided to go for it. I can’t guarantee you witty comedy or brilliant prose, but I can promise to be real. With four larger-than-life daughters, a brilliant husband, and two massive American Bulldogs there’s a whole lot of “real” for the kids at home.
That being said, let me tell you a little about me. I’m a 33 year-old woman in the Chicagoland Area. I love my kids, my husband and independent crafty stuff, (that’s a technical term.) My passions are Scrapbooking (both traditional and digital), Card-Making, Book-Making, Art Journaling, repurposing items into embellishments, and up-cycling everyday stuff into useful, yet adorable projects. I love sewing, embroidery, knitting and crocheting, ribbon work, photography and digital design. I have lots of great ideas, but very little follow through.
I have even better intentions, but even worse motivation.
I would love nothing more than to finally make some progress on all the ideas and goals I’ve had keeping me awake each night for years.
Enter blogging - I want to be held accountable for my creative pursuits! I want to share them with people who will true enjoy them! I want to collaborate with talented artists and everyday people who share the same creative interests! I want to take things that have been discarded and turn them into items people would love to have! And, I want to not only support but contribute to the indy craft movement!
I’ll chat about different crafty ideas and techniques. I’ll attempt to talk about things I think are interesting and/or funny. I’ll share stories about my crazy and insane family life. I’ll show you pictures of my family, of items I’ve made (or didn’t) and who knows what else. l might jump from subject to subject. I’ll probably ramble. And, I’ll definitely use way to many commas. But no matter what else I do, I’ll tell it like it is.
Now, I have laundry waiting.
